On February 7th, 2008, the California Department of Veterans Affairs lowered the available interest rate on CalVet Home Loans to 6.10%. Previously, the rate was set at 6.55%.
This decision was made in response to current market conditions where conventional interest rates have dropped dramatically in recent days. The State of California, using the CalVet Home Loan, continues to offer below market interest rates in an attempt to offer qualified veterans and active-duty personnel the best home-purchasing power available.
